Mr. Mohammad Ishaq Butt, President, Sialkot
Chamber of Commerce & Industry addressed the concluding session of
Women’ Training Program conducted at SCCI from 18th May to
June 24, 2010 and awarded Certificates to the women participants on
completion of their training. The topics of the Training Program were
Business Development through Social Media, Marketing & Branding,
Accounting & Book Keeping, Market Research, Business Communication,
Business Strategic Planning, Basics of Entrepreneurs and Quality
Management.
The President said that
the 21st Century has brought a paradigm shift with respect to
the prevalent concept of women’s taking part in nation building and
strengthening the economy of a country. As 51% population of the
Pakistan consists of women, so, women’s participation has become
imperative in every walk of life. SME based industries of the world are
the backbones of their economies and their real growth cannot be
possible without the active participation of women.
The Sialkot Chamber of
Commerce & Industry, with the initial support of CIPE has
established Women Resource Centre to empower women in business for the
development of the economy of Pakistan. He said that they ed the best
trainers to impart training to business women. He further said that SCCI
has launched an exclusive interactive website for Women Resource Centre
to provide on-line business related information. He added that the
business directory containing appropriate, relevant and updated contact
details of women entrepreneurs of Sialkot was also being compiled to
widely advertise their products and services both locally and
internationally. The copies of the directory would be sent to foreign
mission of Pakistan and Foreign Embassies in Islamabad.

extended his best wishes and congratulation to the participants of the
Training Program and hoped that they would apply their knowledge in
their businesses. He thanked Center for International Private Enterprise
(CIPE) in providing funding to establish Women Resource Centre at SCCI
to facilitate women’s access to resources towards their business
development.He appreciated the efforts of R&D Cell and Women
Resource Centre for the successful completion of the Project of Women
Resource Centre. |
